Angel Eyes Episode 5 Review - After 12 Years

Angel Eyes Episode 5 was so good! My goodness this drama is just so good! I don't remember the last time I felt this much for a drama! I am so in love! Angel eyes has literally become my boyfriend, haha. So in love but excited and scared for what's to come. That opening shot, finally being able to look at Goo Hye Sun's angelic face as her character squinted into the sun, was the perfect entrance to a drama that immediately hit the ground running as the adult actors took over. Every single part of this show is exemplary, and player in the drama is giving a first rate effort. And Goo Hye Sun, I can't tell you how much that I've personally missed her.



Seungri and leader are so funny, I'm glad they are the comic relief. It's so perfect.
Their relationship, For her, she’s trying to forget him because she knows that she was left because of an unknown reason (being cluless about something so important is hurtful)..

For him, he didn’t tell everything and just left without telling the real reason because he dont want her to blame herself for his loss..

After 12 years,

For her, she’s happy with her life with planned future and a lovable fiancee, but she still want to complete the puzzle of who is his first love, first kiss, and second guy (secondary to his father).. She hardly wants to complete the puzzle and find the missing pieces of her past..

For him, he waited patiently for her, but as he expected she have another, so though it hurts, he needs to help her get rid of him, him helping her to forget all about him and theirs..

Now the question, Who is the most selfish?
Her who just wanted to remember everything and end the confusion or him trying to get rid of her and making barriers of her remembering him?


Teddy got a lot of screen time in this episode. Receiving his first paycheck, he would like to treat his co-workers but all of them were busy. He was left in the dorm, talking to his grandmother. Looking at a picture of him and his grandmother, he presented her a long and red underwear. His grandmother told him to buy her one of those on his first paycheck. Unfortunately for the newbie, Team Leader Yoon came and saw him dancing with a mannequin.

The mannequin was wearing the red lingerie that he bought for his grandmother. Teddy tried to reason with his Team Leader but his senior refuse to listen. The two ended up bonding that night. They shared the same feeling of being left out. Both of their loved ones had died.
Anyway there is a character who I wish to punch a little bit. That character is no other than Soo Wan’s father.

That father has some nerves; all Dong Joo wants is to see Soo Wan, but the father keeps telling him to go back. I understand that he is worried about his daughter, about her finding out that she got her vision back thanks to Dong Joo’s mother, however, the way he keeps telling Dong Joo to leave is irritating. All I’ve seen so far is him doing a psychological game with Dong Joo, where he reminds him that if Soo Wan finds out, she will be deeply hurt. I understand his worries, but did he forget who in fact killed Dong Joo’s mother? His nerve of taking Dong Joo that little happiness of just watching Soo Wan from afar irritates me.


The guy has no shame!
Dong Joo and his family were the ones who got Soo Wan out of her cage when the father was too afraid to go home and confront the reality of losing his wife and at the same time having a blind daughter. Dong Joo and his mother were the ones who brought happiness and smiles back to Soo Wan, when the father was busy hiding himself from everything and everyone, when his daughter needed him the most so what right does he have to tell Dong Joo what to do, when to go back to Boston, and so on? No right whatsoever!


I feel that Dylan is trying to push her away by acting all irritated and it’s mixed in with jealousy as he sees that she’s with another man. It’s definitely not because she don’t remember him because he was smiling to her when he first saw her, even when he realized that she can’t recognize him, he wanted to reconcile with her and he was very happy but it was until he found out that she’s his “dad”‘s daughter.

So far, it’s been very lovely mellow story. The movie and elevator was my fav scenes. The flashbacks, the feelings/heartbeat and dear lord the production crew puts on the right music for these scenes. It makes it. So.much.feels! Keep it up angel eyes crew!!
