Never thought they would reveal this all in Angel Eyes Episode 6 which I think is really fast but I love it. They don't make them suffer for few episodes before being together again. I just love the whistle and the recorder. As for aboji, I still hope you're not the killer and if you are, you'll probably regret it for your whole life because Park Dong Joo father was the one who saved your wife and his mom donated her eyes to Soo Wan.
In Angel Eyes, episode 6, Yoon Soo Wan (played by Ky Hye Sun) slapped Park Dong Joo (played by Lee Sang Yoon).
Previously, Soo Wan found out that Dong Joo was the first love she has been waiting for. Later she closed her eyes and touched his face. She said, “I know one boy exactly with this face. That rude kid who would always pick on me. His name was…” Dong Joo replied, “Park Dong Joo.” Soo Wan continued, “Right. Park Dong Joo with the ugliest voice in the world.”
Soo Wan said, “Hi. Long time no see.” Then she slapped him and turned away.
Dong Joo had finally caught up with Min Soo, who immediately gave the doctor a well-deserved punch to the face. She berated him for leaving her friend like that and making her feel miserable. But she also pointed him at the right direction towards the retired detective, he was looking for.
The former detective was embarrassed for his inability to solve the hit-and-run case of Dong Joo’s mother. But Dong Joo said that he was still grateful since he knew that someone was working hard and giving the best efforts for his mother. As a way of saying his thank, Dong Joo went to the restaurant owned by the former detective ex-wife.
After their second meeting, the retired detective started looking at his old files of the case. He remembered one of his co-workers telling him to stop with the investigations since it was going nowhere. It may seemed like a normal thing to say in their work but to a very observant audience, the way the co-worker told the former detective in earnest to close the case was very suspicious.
The parents of the two main characters of the story were starting to take control of their respective sons’ lives.
Soo Wan’s father begged for Dong Joo to leave. Since the two agreed that telling Soo Wan the truth about her eyes would only break her heart, it was easy for the old man to tell a very vulnerable Dong Joo to leave.
Meanwhile, Ji Woon’s mother was happy that her son’s rival was leaving. She asked Soo Wan’s father to let her son lead the emergency room. She would like for her son to received the same amount of respect that Dylan received from the people at the emergency section.
If her son found out about this, he won’t be happy. He’d rather received the merit on his own right. Rather than have his mother worked it out for him.
Ji Woon could feel it. Soo Wan was unreachable. They may be close but he can’t cross that emotional wall that Soo Wan built over the years. That fear of losing her hit him like a gun when he couldn’t contact Soo Wan.
This part right here is a typical drama script. A person loves the female/male lead so much that he/she was always there for him/her. Making people believe that there was something there, including the person who loves the female/male lead. Meanwhile, the female/male lead wouldn’t do anything to change that belief and would let it be, bringing confusion and causing pain.
Right from the get go, Soo Wan’s relationship with Ji Woon was confusing. It was apparent that Ji Woon liked Soo Wan. But Soo Wan didn’t really acknowledged the relationship. She knew he loved her. But she didn’t love him the way he loved her. She was just there for the ride. She was okay with the status quo.
Here comes her first love and she would unconsciously hurt Ji Woon. It is natural to support Soo Wan and Dong Joo’s relationship rather than the latter. But wouldn’t it be Soo Wan’s fault on some level, letting the relationship continue?
Before leaving Dong Joo had asked for Ji Woon to take care of Soo Wan. Even if Ji Woon don’t really had any idea the extent of the relationship between the love of his life and his new friend.
Following the previous episode, a colleague had contacted Soo Wan’s father. He was blackmailing and extorting the hospital head. If Soo Wan’s father won’t help him then he would tell what he saw on the day his daughter received her eyesight back.
The blackmailing doctor had witnessed the actions of Soo Wan’s father on that day. He saw Soo Wan’s father deliberately removed the patient’s oxygen mask, leading to her death.
The audience had seen a new scene. Soo Wan’s father saw his wife in the form of Dong Joo’s mother. This led him to giving his best in trying to revive Jung Wha.
I could hate Soo Wan’s father for not breaking his oath. But I understand where he’s coming from. Besides, if he didn’t do it then we won’t have a story.
Like any Korean drama, Angel Eyes’ won’t be complete without an airport chase scene. But don’t get me wrong, even if I’ve witnessed many similar scenes and the fact that I’ve watched a behind-the-scene footage of the next scene, I was still excited to see this particular part played out.
Soo Wan found out that Dong Joo had resigned from the hospital. She started looking for him. She first went to the observatory followed by the cemetery, wherein she saw a bouquet of flowers and a familiar mp3 player.
Picking it up, she quickly got into a taxi and went towards the airport. Arriving inside the terminal, she hurriedly ran as she called for her first love, “Park Dong Joo. Dong Joo. Dong Joo.”
But the noise and the chaos of the airport proved to be a problem so she ended up using her fateful whistle. After all, Dong Joo said that he’ll come whenever she blew it.
Apparently, Dong Joo was quite near where the frantic Soo Wan was. He heard the whistle and turned around. To his surprised, he saw Soo Wan desperately calling for him.
Sensing that someone was looking at her, Soo Wan turned her head around. To her relief, it was Park Dong Joo.
The world stood still for the two. Everything stopped. Dong Joo and Soo Wan only had eyes for each other. Slowly, Soo Wan walked over to him and slapped him by the chest as she said,“You punk! Not just once but twice you were going to disappear. You promised. You promised you wouldn’t disappear without my permission”
Dong Joo looked down and saw on Soo Wan’s hand was their old mp3 player. Right then and there he knew that she knew the truth.
I think PDJ still decides to leave her, and she's sitting alone listening to his messages again, judging from the preview. Whether he left the country or not, I dont know. But at the end of the episode he obviously returns when she's drinking in the observatory again. Hmmm.. maybe filming for this ep happened when he was sick and had to be hospitalised? So they let him "leave" and return, when really he needed a break from filming?
